The 42nd Mediterranean Tour 2016 (officially: La Méditerranéenne ) was a stage race in road cycling .
It took place from February 11th to 14th, 2016 . After the Mediterranean Tour ( Tour méditerranéen cycliste professionnel ) led through southern France in previous years and was discontinued in 2015 after the 41st edition for financial reasons, the race was renamed La Méditerranéenne in 2016 as a three -country tour with stages in Spain , France and Italy discharged again. The race was part of the UCI Europe Tour 2016 and classified in UCI category 2.1 .
