Mittelrode is a district of the Lower Saxony town of Springe and has 318 inhabitants (as of August 4, 2010). The manor Bockerode , located behind the Bockeroder Wald, is also included in Mittelrode.

history

The place was first mentioned in the 13th century. The current name appeared after the Thirty Years War. On March 1, 1974, Mittelrode was incorporated into the town of Springe.

politics

Mittelrode has a joint local council with Eldagsen .

The local mayor is Karl-Heinrich Rolf (CDU).

Culture and sights

Mittelrode has now become a small equestrian stronghold. Relative to the number of inhabitants, the village has the second most horses in the jumping area.

The place can be reached by train with the S5 (Hanover-Hameln), the nearest stop is the Völksen-Eldagsen station .

A bus connection connects the place to the neighboring communities. As a rule, buses run every hour to Gestorf and Völksen during the day.
