The Moderates of Åland ( Swedish Moderate Samling för Åland , abbreviation MSA or M ) is a liberal - conservative party in the largely autonomous to Finland belonging Åland Islands .

history

In 1967, the free-spirited collaboration ( Frisinnad Samverkan in Swedish ) was the oldest predecessor of the Moderate Collection for Åland. This party existed under this name until 2011, when it was renamed Moderate on Åland ( Swedish Moderaterna på Åland ). Just two years later, the daily newspaper Nya Åland announced on October 28, 2013 that the Unbound Collection on Åland would merge with the Moderates on Åland to form the Moderate Collection for Åland. However, part of the Unbound Collection in Åland persisted, while a group around the former party leader of the Unbound Collection in Åland, Gun-Mari Lindholm , joined the new collection.

The party achieved the best results in the parliamentary elections in Åland in 1991 and in the parliamentary elections in Åland in 1995 , in each of which it won 6 seats. When it first took part as a Moderate Collection for Åland in the Åland parliamentary elections in 2015 , the party won 5 seats and took part in a government with Åland's Social Democrats and the Liberals in Åland under Katrin Sjögren ( Lib ).

Alignment

The Moderate Collection for Åland sees itself as a modern bourgeois party. The party's liberal-conservative program includes the individual responsibility of the individual in society, in which there are no differences in value between different people. In addition, security and law and order are also very important. For Åland, Moderate Collection wants Åland to have a prosperous business world with a competent and efficient public sector .
