Moges Taye

Moges Taye (born November 12, 1973 in Shewa Province ) is an Ethiopian marathon runner .

In 1996 he won the Rome marathon . The following year he finished second and sixth in the Prague Marathon , but did not finish at the World Athletics Championships in Athens in 1997 . At the end of the season he won the Istanbul Marathon .

In 1998 he first won the Tiberias Marathon and finished second in Rome and then set his personal best as the winner of the Vienna City Marathon with 2:09:21 h. He defended his title in Istanbul and finished seventh in the Fukuoka Marathon . In 1999 he finished second in Vienna and won for the third time in a row in Istanbul.

A fourth place in Rome and a tenth place in the Berlin Marathon 2000 was followed by a victory in the Venice Marathon in 2001 and a second place in the Honolulu Marathon . He was third each in 2002 in Rome and Venice.

In 2003 he won Tiberias for the second time and was third in the Turin Marathon . At the World Cup in Paris / Saint-Denis , however, he had to give up again.

The following year he won the Nagano Marathon and came fourth in Prague. In 2005 he finished third in Nagano and in 2006 third in the Hong Kong Marathon . In 2007 he came in sixth in Nagano and in 2008 in 14th place.

Moges Taye is 1.72 meters tall and weighs 54 kg. He is supervised by Demadonnathletics .
