action
Marie, who leads a lonely life in the French provinces after the death of her mother, works as a cleaning lady for a landlady. There she is forced to prostitute herself and is very popular from the village. It soon becomes apparent that the male villagers behind their bourgeois facade are very morally depraved. Marie tries to gain power over these men through the taboo of prostitution.
criticism
"Snappy satire staged with a burlesque swing, which, however, reduces its entertainment value through coarse means."
