Monika Lazar
Monika Lazar (born September 13, 1967 in Leipzig ) is a German politician ( Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen ) and has been a member of the German Bundestag since 2004 .
Life and work
After graduating from high school “Rudolf Hildebrandt” in Markkleeberg in 1986 , Monika Lazar studied the economics of domestic trade at the Leipzig Graduate School of Business until 1990 . She then worked in her parents' bakery and also trained as a baker from 1991 to 1993 . In 1996 she began a postgraduate course in business administration , which she finished in 1998 as a business economist. After that she worked for ZeitPunkt - culture magazine in Leipzig until 2004 .
politics
Monika Lazar has been active with the Greens since 1990, but only became a member in 1993. Between 1994 and 1999 she was a member of the city council of Markkleeberg and from 1997 to 1998 she was a member of the state board of the Greens in Saxony . In February 2020, she replaced Gesine Märtens on the Leipzig City Council.
MPs
On December 21, 2004 she replaced Antje Hermenau, who had left the Bundestag, and has been a member of the German Bundestag ever since. Since 2005 she has been spokeswoman for the Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen parliamentary group for strategies against right-wing extremism . She is currently also the spokesperson for sports policy in her parliamentary group.
In the 18th German Bundestag , Lazar, in addition to her previous spokesman function, was the chairwoman of her parliamentary group in the sports committee and is a full member of the board of trustees of the Federal Agency for Civic Education.
In the 19th German Bundestag , she continues to be the chairwoman of her parliamentary group in the sports committee. She is also a full member of the Committee on Home Affairs and Homeland and a deputy member of the Petitions Committee and of the Committee on Family, Seniors, Women and Youth . She is still a member of the Board of Trustees of the Federal Agency for Political Education and a member of the Advisory Board of the Alliance for Democracy and Tolerance.
Monika Lazar has always entered the Bundestag via the Saxony state list. Your constituency is Leipzig II .
On November 14, 2019, she was the only member of her parliamentary group to vote for mandatory measles vaccination .
In July 2020 she announced that she no longer wanted to run for the 2021 federal election .
