The Mont Fort is with a height of 3329  m above sea level. M. the highest mountain accessible by train in the 4 Vallées region in the Valais Alps . The mountain can be reached from Verbier in Val de Bagnes with a gondola and a chair lift to La Chaux and from there with the Col des Gentianes - Mont Fort cable car. On the platform of the mountain station there is an igloo with 25 places can have a fondue. From the mountain station of the cable car a path leads over rocks to the summit cross. From the top of Mont Fort you can see over fifty mountain peaks, including the Matterhorn , Dent Blanche , Dent d'Hérens and Mont Blanc . The glaciated peaks of Rosablanche and Grand Combin with the Glacier de Corbassière can be seen in the vicinity .

The 125-person cable car from Siviez via Tortin to the Col des Gentianes was built from 1982 to 1983, as was a glacier lift on the Glacier de Tortin . A parallel glacier lift was added later. As Jumbo dubbed aerial tramway with 150-person gondolas from the area of Verbier from La Chaux Col des Gentianes was built 1987th Summer skiing has ceased in 1999. Since the 2007/2008 winter season, the glacier lifts can no longer be operated.
