Monti Beton (based on Monty Python ) is an Austrian cover band that was founded in 1982. The group covers performers like Bob Dylan or Elvis Presley , and one often plays with celebrities like Willi Resetarits or Johann K. At the end of 2007 the band went on a “25 Years of Monti Beton” tour in Austria.

Members

The singers Thomas Schreiber and Toni Matosic have known each other since 1980 and have played in various bands since then. In 1982 they founded Monti Beton together . They were also significantly involved in founding various music groups ( Countdown , Benefit , TCB band ). Matosic and Schreiber are currently working on the Nebochantn part .

At the age of 15, Tibor Kövesdi found his calling, playing the bass. He has been a member of Monti Beton since 1999. In Vienna he was trained in the subjects jazz bass and jazz composition at the conservatory , where he also graduated. He then studied the double bass at the university . He has already been to Europe with groups like MC Hacek , Mühlbacher etc. or Nouvelle Cuisine .

Harald Michalek originally started playing the accordion in his childhood when he decided to play the guitar at the age of 16. In 1986 he played in a band for the first time, the name was City Club Crew . In 1988 he came across Monti Beton and made his first unofficial appearances with the group. After the City Club crew disbanded in 1990, the first official concert with Monti Beton followed in the late 1990s.

The drummer Klaus Pérez-Salado has lived in Vienna since 1986, where he studied jazz drums at the conservatory. He became known through appearances with greats such as Georg Danzer , Ludwig Hirsch or Peter Cornelius . Since 2003 he has been a member of Christina Stürmer's band , which is enjoying great success in the German-speaking world.

Geri Schuller has been keyboardist for the Austrian talent factory Hallucination Company . With member Tibor Kövesdi and Harald Gangelberger he founded the Geri Schuller Trio . In 2000 he also played live for the Austrian girl band Rounder Girls . He has been a member of Monti Beton since 1990 .
