The Moorseer Mühle

Moorsee includes Kloster, Moorseer Sand, Ostmoorsee and Westmoorsee. The place name is derived from the frequent flooding in the area around Ost- and Westmoorsee. Moorseersand was first mentioned in 1519 as "Moersinghe sande". A secondary school is established for the year 1609 in Ostmoorsee, it was probably the sexton in Abbehausen held. School operations ceased in 1958. The place name "monastery" means the former Johanniter coming Inte .

In Ostmoorsee there is the only still functioning windmill in the Wesermarsch district, the Moorseeer Mühle museum is operated here.
