Moritz Alois Becker , from 1867 Moritz Alois Ritter von Becker (born May 21, 1812 in Mährisch Altstadt , † August 22, 1887 in Lienz ), was an Austrian educator .

Life

Mori (t) z Alois Becker studied philosophy and education in Vienna from 1828 to 1832 and was tutor to Prince Liechtenstein from 1840 . From 1850 he worked for the state school board of Lower Austria and earned services to improve the teaching system. In 1864 he became the teacher of Crown Prince Rudolf and his sister Archduchess Gisela . In 1864 he was a co-founder of the Lower Austria Regional Studies Association.

In 1869 he became director of the royal. Family Fideikomißbibliothek today part of the national library . He was also Vice President of the Geographical Society , and in 1872 he retired as a councilor .

Residing at Rennweg 18, Becker worked as a temporary employee of the daily newspaper Die Presse, in particular with issues relating to the Vienna district of Landstrasse .
