Morten H. Poulsen (born September 9, 1988 in Herning ) is a Danish ice hockey player who has been under a trial contract with HC Innsbruck in the Erste Bank Ice Hockey League since October 2017 .
Career
Morten Poulsen began his career as an ice hockey player in his hometown in the youth department of Herning Blue Fox , for whose professional team he was active in the AL-Bank Ligaen from 2005 to 2008 . In 2007 and 2008 he won the Danish championship title with his team . From 2008 to 2010 the winger played for league rivals Nordsjælland Cobras before returning to Herning for the 2010/11 season . As assistant captain, he led the team to another championship title and was himself elected to the league's all-star team.
For the 2011/12 season Poulsen was committed by IK Oskarshamn from HockeyAllsvenskan , the second Swedish division. He stayed there for four years.
For the 2015/16 season Poulsen moved to the top division of Austria to the EC Graz 99ers and left the club after the season for Finland, where he signed on with the first division club Pelicans Lahti .
In August 2017, Poulsen completed a try-out at HC Bozen from the Erste Bank Eishockey Liga , but received no contract. In October 2017 he received a contract with HC Innsbruck until the end of the season.
International
For Denmark , Poulsen took part in the junior division of the U18 Junior B World Championship 2006 , the U20 Junior B World Championship in 2007 and the U20 Junior A World Championship in 2008 . In the senior sector, he was in his country's squad at the 2011 , 2012 , 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016 World Championships .
