Moscow is located in northeastern Stevens County in the US state of Kansas on US Highway 56 . The next larger cities are Hugoton , which is 18 km southwest of Moscow, as well as Liberal and Ulysses . Moscow is located at 928 meters above sea level.

The place was founded by farmers in 1913 and nowadays most of the people live from agriculture . Mainly corn and wheat are grown as animal feed, as well as cotton around Moscow.
