Moses Kotane ( English Moses Kotane Local Municipality ) is a local municipality in the district Bojanala Platinum in the South African province of Northwest . The seat of the municipality is in Mogwase .

The community is named after the anti- apartheid fighter Moses Kotane .

The local government is run by the African National Congress . Mayor is Ralesole Diale.

In 2011 the community had 242,554 inhabitants. 98.3% of these were black, 0.8% white and 0.5% Indian or Asian.

First language was 80.5% Setswana , 4% isiZulu , 3.3% isiXhosa , 2.9% English, 1.5% Sesotho , 1.2% each isiNdebele and Xitsonga , 1.1% Sepedi and 0.8% Afrikaans.
