Bojanala Platinum ( English Bojanala Platinum District Municipality ) is a district within the province of North West in South Africa . It has 1,507,505 inhabitants (as of October 2011) on a total area of ​​18,333 km². The seat of the district administration is in Rustenburg .

The district is named after the Setswana word for tourism and the English word for platinum , which is mined in the region.
