Moskosel ( Umesamisch Måskuosuvvane ) is a place ( Småort ) in the Swedish province of Norrbotten County and the historic province of Lapland . The place belongs to the municipality of Arvidsjaur and is crossed by the European route 45 . It is located about 45 kilometers north of the main town of the municipality, Arvidsjaur .

Moskosel has lost over two thirds of its population since 1960 (656 inhabitants). In 2015 the population fell below 200, so that the place lost the status of a crime scene .

In Moskosel there is a train station on the domestic railway . A Swedish peculiarity is that this is still equipped with shape signals .

The most important employer is the tent manufacturer Tentipi AB . One of the attractions in the area are the Trollforsen rapids in the Piteälven river, 15 km north of the village .
