The Mount Abbot is a 4179 m high mountain in the Sierra Nevada in the State of California of the United States . It lies on the border between Fresno County and Inyo County in the John Muir Wilderness . It is named after the American officer and pioneer Henry Larcom Abbot .
Surroundings
In the east and northeast there are several lakes through which Rock Creek flows. Mills Creek flows northwest and flows into Lake Thomas A Edison , a few kilometers away . Lake Italy is in the southwest . Nearby peaks are Ruby Peak and Mount Mills in the north, Mount Morgan in the northeast, Mount Dade and Bear Creek Spire not far away in the southeast, Mount Julius Caesar in the south, and Mount Gabb in the southwest. The dominance is only about 1.88 km, so the mountain is the highest elevation within a 1.88 km radius. It is dominated by Mount Gabb to the southwest.
