Mount Deryugin ( Russian Гора Дерюгина Gora Derjugina ) is a 2635 m high mountain in the East Antarctic Queen Maud Land . It rises from the Vindegga in the Liebknecht chain of the Alexander von Humboldt Mountains .
It was discovered and mapped using aerial photographs by participants in the German Antarctic Expedition in 1938/39 under the direction of polar explorer Alfred Ritscher . New mappings based on additional aerial photographs were carried out by the Third Norwegian Antarctic Expedition (1956–1960) and by Soviet scientists between 1960 and 1961. It is named after the Soviet zoologist K. M. Derjugin from the Arctic and Antarctic Research Institute . The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names transferred the Russian name to English in 1970.
