Mount Todd is a 3600 m high mountain in the west Antarctic Ellsworthland . It rises on the east side of the Embree Glacier at a distance of 3 km north-northeast of Mount Press in the Sentinel Range of the Ellsworth Mountains .
The United States Geological Survey mapped it based on its own surveys and using aerial photographs of the United States Navy between 1957 and 1960. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it in 1984 after the US physicist Edward P. Todd, head of the National's polar program Science Foundation from 1977 to 1984 and as such responsible for the development of the United States Antarctic Research Program .
