Mountains (original title: Mestizo ) is a 1966 spaghetti western from Spanish production. The film, directed by Julio Buchs, had its German premiere in 1987 on video. The Italian title, often used as the original title, is Django non perdona .

action

Canada, 1866. Trapper Peter Lembrock, a half-breed, is enlisted as a leader for the Royal Canadian Mounted Police in order to find the person responsible for the rape of his sister, who subsequently hanged herself because of the disgrace. Indians and mestizos under Louis Riel fight together against government troops; In a fort, Lembrock and his partner, Lieutenant Lex, find his fiancée Helen, who falls in love with Peter. A woman who has similar feelings for him is fighting on the side of the rebels. A plot arranged by the officer in charge, Lecomte, brings Lembrock behind bars for high treason. A rebel-led attack on the fort saves him, whereupon he joins them. The rapist finds his just punishment; Lembrock his great love.

An Italian participation in this western is, contrary to the assertion of some sources, not ascertainable.

For some evaluations, according to the Italian, the film hero was renamed Django and a number of English pseudonyms were used instead of the actual actor names.
