Officially, Mr. Moto arrives in Port Said in a passenger ship; he is betrayed and murdered by one of the conspirators, Norvel. It turns out that the Mr. Moto on board the ship was a friend of the real Mr. Moto, who pretended to be the notorious criminalist. The real Mr. Moto quickly finds a lead that leads to Norvel and a ventriloquist artist, Fabian the Great. He discovers that a British agent, Burke, has infiltrated the conspiratorial group. But Fabian the Great also stays alert and murders Burke. He also realizes that Mr. Moto is still alive. But his attempts to murder the real Mr. Moto are unsuccessful.
