Muʻa ( Wallisian for "first"; also Mua ) is one of the three districts of the Kingdom of Uvea in the French overseas territory of Wallis and Futuna in the Pacific . It occupies the southern third of the island of Uvea and borders on Hahake in the north .

geography

The northern part is rather sparsely populated and covered by forest , while there are many settlements along the south coast . Mu'a is Uvea's district with the most villages, but not with the most inhabitants. In the northwest on the border with Hahake is the Lac Lalolalo ( German Lalolalo-See ). The islands of Faloa , Nukuatea , Nukumoto , Fenua Foʻou , Motu o Tupa , Îlot St. Christophe , Nukuato and Nukufetau also belong to Muʻa. All islands belong to the Wallis Islands .

Mu'a consists of ten villages with their own village chief, headed by a lazy man as administrator of the district:
