Muhammed Karagül (born June 1, 1997 ) is a Turkish ice hockey goalkeeper who has been under contract with Erzurum Büyükşehir Belediyesi SK since 2012 and has been playing with the club in the Turkish Super League again since 2015 .

Career

Club

Muhammed Karagül began his career as an ice hockey player with Erzurum Büyükşehir Belediyesi SK , for whom he made his debut in the Turkish Super League at the age of 15 . After spending the 2014/15 season with the club in the Turkish second division, he has since returned to the super league for the club. In the 2016/17 season he was voted the most valuable player in the league.

National team

Karagül made his first international appearances for Turkey at the U18 World Championships in Division III in 2013 and 2014 , in which he has not yet been used. In 2015 he played for the first time and was voted the best goalkeeper of the tournament with the best catch rate and the lowest average goal conceded. In the same year he also played for the first time in the U20 World Cup in Division III . There he was also part of the squad in 2016 , when he was not used again, and in 2017 , when he came to a shutout in his only game against South Africa .

Karagül was in the box for the Turkish men's selection for the first time at the 2017 World Cup in Division II, but could not avoid relegation. At the 2018 World Cup , he played in Division III and was voted the best player on his team with the best catch quota of the tournament.
