The Munawwar Tawi (also Manawar Tawi ) is a right tributary of the Chanab in the Indian Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir , on the border with Asad Kashmir and in the Pakistani province of Punjab .

The Munawwar Tawi arises at the confluence of the Nowshera Tawi and Neari Tawi near the village of Pothi in the Rajouri district . It initially flows in a south-westerly direction through the hilly landscape in front of the Pir Panjal mountain range . The river meets the Siwaliks mountain range and turns east for 10 km. It forms the border with the Pakistani Asad Kashmir for about 2 km . Eventually the river changes direction to the south, breaks through the Siwaliks and reaches the lowlands. It now flows in the Jammu district . The Munawwar Tawi continues its course south for another 30 km. It again forms the border to Asad Kashmir to the west for 10 kilometers. 10 km from its mouth, the river reaches the Pakistani province of Punjab. There it finally flows into the Chanab 20 km north of the city of Sialkot . The Munawwar Tawi has a length of 80 km. It drains a large part of the Rajouri district and surrounding areas. Its catchment area covers approximately 2700 km².
