The Mundua Islands , also called Ningau Islands, are a group of six small islands , located 100 km north of New Britain in the northwest of the Vitu Islands ( Bismarck Archipelago ). The group belongs to Papua New Guinea , West New Britain Province .
The archipelago extends over a length of 10 kilometers and has a total area of 8.0 km². At the 2000 census, the population was 1,315, mostly on the main island of Mundua ( Ningau ) in the east of the group . The other islands are much smaller and mostly uninhabited.
