The Municipio Cruz de Machamarca is a district in the Oruro department in the highlands of the South American Andean state of Bolivia .
Location in the vicinity
The municipality of Cruz de Machamarca is located in the northwest of the five municipalities of the province of Litoral . It borders the province of Sajama in the northwest , the province of Sabaya in the west, the municipality Yunguyo del Litoral in the south, the municipality Huachacalla in the southeast , and the municipality Escara in the east and northeast .
The central place of the municipality is Cruz de Machacamarca with 278 inhabitants ( 2012 census ) in the southeastern part of the district.
geography
The climate of Escara is semi-arid and has a short rainy season in summer, the annual rainfall is low 200 mm. The annual average temperature is almost 6 ° C without significant fluctuations in the course of the year, but with strong daily fluctuations in temperature and frequent changes in frost .
