The municipality of Huachacalla is a district in the Oruro department in the South American Andean state of Bolivia .
Location in the vicinity
The municipality of Huachacalla is the centrally located of five municipalities in the province of Litoral . It borders the Municipio Cruz de Machacamarca to the north and west , the Municipio Yunguyo del Litoral to the southwest , the Municipio Esmeralda to the south , and the Municipio Escara to the east .
The central and only place of the municipality is the rural town of Huachacalla with 1,003 inhabitants ( 2012 census ) in the center of the district.

The municipality of Huachacalla is located on the Bolivian Altiplano between the high mountain ranges of the Cordillera Occidental in the west and the Cordillera Central in the east.
The climate is semi-arid and has a short rainy season in summer, the annual precipitation is low 200 mm. The annual average temperature is 5.5 ° C without significant fluctuations in the course of the year, but with strong daily fluctuations in temperature and frequent changes in frost .
