Huachacalla is a town in the Oruro department in the highlands of the South American Andean state of Bolivia .
Location in the vicinity
Huachacalla is the only place in the district ( Bolivian : Municipio ) Huachacalla and the administrative seat of the Litoral Province and is located on the Bolivian Altiplano on the Río Sabaya. Huachacalla lies at an altitude of 3,749 m above sea level on the eastern slope of a mountain range made up of two Quaternary stratovolcanoes , the Pacha Kkollu Quimsa Misa (4702 m) in the northwest and the Inca Camacho (4792 m) in the southeast.

Transport network
Huachacalla is 161 kilometers by road southwest of Oruro , the capital of the department.
From Oruro the dirt road Ruta 12 leads via Toledo and Ancaravi to Huachacalla and on via Pisiga on the Chilean border to Colchane in Chile . A few kilometers east of the city, the Ruta 12 crosses the Río Sabaya, which flows twenty kilometers further south into the Salar de Coipasa .

The city has around 200 houses and infrastructure facilities, a school, a hospital, a Catholic church and a barracks. In addition, the "Escuela de Auxiliares de Enfermería Jesús María" trains young women and men from poor families to become health promoters.
