The Municipio Eucaliptus is a district in the Oruro department in the highlands of the South American Andean state of Bolivia .

Location in the vicinity

The municipality Eucaliptus is the only municipality in the province of Tomas Barrón . It is bordered by the La Paz Department to the north and west and the Cercado Province to the south and east .

The central place of the municipality is the rural town of Eucaliptus with 2,626 inhabitants ( 2012 census ) on the northwestern edge of the district.

The Municipio Eucaliptus is located on the eastern edge of the Bolivian Altiplano between the Andean mountain ranges of the Cordillera Occidental in the west and the Serranía de Sicasica as part of the Cordillera Central in the east. The climate is a typical time of day climate in which the temperature fluctuations during the day are greater than during the year.

The average annual temperature of the region is around 8 ° C (see climate diagram), the monthly values ​​fluctuate between 4 ° C in June / July and 11 ° C in December.
