The municipality of San Ramón is a district in the Beni department in the lowlands of the South American Andean state of Bolivia .

Location in the vicinity

The municipality of San Ramón is one of three municipalities in the province of Mamoré and extends in a north-south direction over almost the entire length of the province. It borders on the municipality of San Joaquín to the west, the province of Cercado to the south , and the province of Iténez to the east .

The largest town and administrative seat of the province is the rural town of San Ramón with 3,483 inhabitants ( 2012 census ) in the western part of the municipality.

The municipality of San Ramón is located in the Moxos plain , which is one of the largest wetlands on earth with over 100,000 km². The predominant form of vegetation in the region is the tropical savannah .
