The Municipio Tiraque is a district in the department of Cochabamba in the South American Andean state of Bolivia .

Location in the vicinity

The municipality of Tiraque is ( since the division in 2009 ) one of two municipalities in the province of Tiraque . It is bordered to the west by the province of Chapare , to the southwest by the province of Punata , to the south by the province of Arani , to the east by the province of Carrasco , and to the northeast by the municipality of Shinahota .

The largest settlement in the center of the municipality is Tiraque with 2,398. ( 2012 census )

The Municipio Tiraque is located in the Cordillera Oriental between the Bolivian Altiplano in the west and the Bolivian lowlands in the east. The climate is a typical time of day climate in which the daily temperature fluctuations are more pronounced than the seasonal temperature differences.
