Tiraque is a country town in the department of Cochabamba in the South American Andean state of Bolivia .
Location in the vicinity
Tiraque is the central place of the canton Tiraque in the district ( Bolivian : Municipio ) Tiraque and the administrative seat of the province Tiraque . The city is located at an altitude of 3298 m in the mountain range of the Cordillera Oriental on the left bank of the Río Jatun Mayu .

The climate of the region is a typical time of day climate , in which the temperature differences during the day are significantly greater than the differences between the seasons.

Tiraque can be reached from Cochabamba on the national road Ruta 4 , which leads into the Bolivian lowlands to Villa Tunari and on to Santa Cruz . From Tiraque, the Camino RN4 Colomi-Tiraque leads 14 kilometers northwest to Ruta 4 , from the junction it is 27 kilometers west to Sacaba and from there another 16 kilometers to Cochabamba.

Due to the population structures that have evolved over time, the region has a high proportion of indigenous people , in the municipality of Tiraque 92.7 percent of the population speak the Quechua language.
