The Municipio Urubichá is a district in the Santa Cruz Department in the lowlands of the South American Andean state of Bolivia .
Location in the vicinity
The Municipio Urubichá is one of three Municipios in the Guarayos Province . It borders on the Beni department to the north, the Ascención de Guarayos municipality to the west and south , and the Ñuflo de Chávez province to the east . It extends for about 200 kilometers in a north-south and over 110 kilometers in an east-west direction.
The central place of the municipality is Urubichá with 3,302 inhabitants ( 2001 ) on the southern edge of the municipality.
geography
The municipality of Urubichá is located in the Moxos plain ( Bolivian : Llanos de Moxos), a more than 100,000 km² flood savannah in the northern lowlands of Bolivia. The region's climate is a semi-humid climate of the warm tropics .
The mean average temperature of the region is around 25 ° C (see Urubichá climate diagram) and varies only marginally between 22 ° C in June and July and 27 ° C from October to February. The annual precipitation is about 1,150 mm, with a weak dry season from June to September with monthly precipitation below 45 mm, and a significant humidity period from November to March with monthly precipitation between 140 and 200 mm.
