Murodjon Ahmadaliyev (* 2. November 1994 in Namangan ) is an Uzbek professional boxer and world champion of the WBA and IBF at super bantamweight .

Amateur career

As an amateur, he was Uzbek Junior Champion 2010, Uzbek Junior Champion 2012, and Uzbek Champion 2013 and 2014. He also won international tournaments in Uzbekistan, Russia and Bulgaria. His greatest success at youth level was second place at the 2012 World Youth Championships in Armenia .

After finishing second at the Asian Championships in Thailand in 2015, he started at the World Championships in Qatar in October 2015 and, after winning over Francesco Maietta , Qairat Jeralijew , Chatchai Butdee and Shiva Thapa, reached the final, in which he was narrowly defeated by Michael Conlan and won the silver medal won. With this success, Ahmadaliyev qualified for the 2016 Olympic Games .

At the Olympic Games he was only eliminated in the semifinals against Robeisy Ramírez and won bronze. He had previously defeated Qairat Yeraliyev and Alberto Melián . At the 2017 Asian Championships in Uzbekistan , he won the gold medal and thus qualified for the 2017 World Championships in Hamburg , where he was defeated in the first duel against Qairat Yeraliyev.

Professional career

He made his professional debut on March 10, 2018 in Brooklyn . He is under contract with Andrey Ryabinsky's promotion company World of Boxing .

On January 30, 2020, he defeated the American Daniel Roman in his eighth fight and became world champion of the WBA and IBF.
