MxPx is an American punk band that was founded in 1992 in Bremerton , Washington state . At the time the band was founded, the band was called Magnified Plaid , but was quickly renamed MP . Instead of the dots, small x were used and so the name changed to MxPx.

Band members

Mike Arthur Herrera

Mike started playing bass in 1991 after becoming enthralled by the local punk scene. Six months later he also started playing the guitar, after which he soon wrote songs himself. By his own admission, they had little variety and horrific texts about his teenage problems. Nevertheless, he recorded the songs using his sister's cassette recorder and filled his first tape with it.

Yuri Zane Ruley

When Yuri was young, his family moved often. He lived in Alabama , Oklahoma , Idaho, and various locations in Washington. In the ninth grade he started playing the drums. His first appearance was with the band "The Skinny Little White Boys" on a ninth grade talent show. However, the band only existed for two months. Later he met Mike and Andy who were looking for a drummer. They came to his house, played a few songs, and became MxPx.

Thomas Edmund Wisniewski

He lived in Dunnoon, Scotland for the first six months, his father was in the Army and so they moved to Honolulu , Hawaii until his family settled in Bremerton, Washington. When he was 13, he really started getting interested in music. A family friend was playing the drums and the second Tom saw him doing it he realized what he wanted to do for the rest of his life: playing drums in a band. He got a used drum set and was in a school band. He played drums for various bands for about four years. He also spent a lot of time with Mike and Yuri, who were looking for a new guitarist. Tom played guitar back then just for fun and because the people he spent time with did not have any professional experience. However, he was still able to bring himself to play the guitar on tour for MxPx.
