MBWTEYP (short for: My Baby Wants To Eat Your Pussy ) was a German rock band that was founded at the end of 2004 around the Popakademie Baden-Württemberg . The band consisted of the singer Ziggy Has Ardeur, the singer Debúsy D'eeper, the guitarist David De Vincent, the bassist Donni Bella Luna and the drummer Ray Gattner. The band members lived in Mannheim at that time.

MBWTEYP combined different stylistic devices, in most of the media reviews the music is described as a mixture of glam rock , art rock , funk , pop , progressive and metal .

history

MBWTEYP was founded in 2004 in the context of the Mannheim Pop Academy .

At Popkomm 2005 the first 5-track EP called Don't Tell a Soul was released and from then on sold at concerts as a self-made “pencil case”, as the band calls it. In autumn the band was invited to a gig in Toronto, Canada, to musically represent the state of Baden-Württemberg.

In 2006, MBWTEYP successfully took part in some newcomer competitions such as Local Heroes and Emergenza .

In 2007 the band began to build a reputation as an innovative do-it-yourself band, including putting their own media world online under the name Pussy Media World, on which they made their own TV and radio programs, published their own newspaper and "User generated content" of the fans integrated. In the same year the band played at some major festivals such as Rock am Ring , Arena of Pop and Bochum Total . The debut album was recorded in various studios in Germany together with the young producer Philipp Schwär .

In 2008 MBWTEYP released their debut album called Ignorance & Vision on May 23rd under the band's own label Ass Hammer Records (distributed by Cargo Records) . The first official single was Biology Is a Fairytale , which was played by numerous public youth waves in Germany. In Lithuania, the single made it into the top 10 of the airplay charts, MTV Baltic included the video for the clip in the rotation. In May, MBWTEYP went on tour in Germany. In the summer the band played again at numerous festivals in Germany (e.g. Bochum Total , MTV Campus Invasion ) and abroad (e.g. be2gether, Lithuania).

In the course of the band's history the band played as support for several well-known artists, including a. Jethro Tull and Sons of Mannheim . The meetings with the German rock star Udo Lindenberg , who accompanied MBWTEYP to her own songs on drums at the Kunsthalle Mannheim, are also numerous . Udo Lindenberg said about MBWTEYP in the context of the jointly played festival Calw Rockt in 2007: “This band is like a big surprise bag”. In the media, MBWTEYP particularly emphasizes the qualities of its live show. The Süddeutsche Zeitung wrote in a concert review: "The audience, who usually wears a 'Do not disturb' sign around their necks, is freaking out".

In 2010, the EP Grace Is a Beautiful Thing to Lose, recorded live in the studio within a week, was released again on their own label Ass Hammer Records , My Friend and MBWTEYP were again on tour with the EP in their luggage.

In 2011, apart from a few concerts and festival appearances, the band retired to the studio to record the concept album Writ of Eskort , produced by singer Ziggy Has Ardeur , which was released on March 30, 2012.

At the end of 2013 the band gave their last concert.
