Myroslaw Mychailowytsch Wantuch (born January 18, 1939 in Welykossilky , Poland ) is a Ukrainian choreographer , general director and artistic director of the National Academic Dance Ensemble of Ukraine " Pavlo Wirskyj " and head of the choreography of the National Pedagogical University .

Life

Myroslaw Wantuch was born in the then Polish, then Soviet and now in the Kamjanka-Buska district of the Ukrainian Lviv Oblast village of Welykosilky . From 1956 to 1958 he graduated from the Lviv University of Culture Education , from October 1958 to December 1961 he served in the Soviet Army and from 1972 to 1977 he attended the correspondence department at the Academy of Social Sciences in Moscow . From January 1962 he worked for 18 years as the choreographer and artistic director of one of the best dance groups in Ukraine at the Palace of Culture in Lviv. Since February 1980 he has been the general director and artistic director of the National Academic Dance Ensemble of Ukraine "Pavlo Wirskyj" in Kiev . During his creative life he created nearly 40 different themes for choreographic compositions such as suites and dances.

Wantuch was from September 1996 to September 1999 a member of the Presidium of the Committee for the Taras Shevchenko National Prize of Ukraine and then its President until October 2010. He is the chairman of the All-Ukrainian Union of Choreography, chairman of the Ukrainian Coordinating Council of Children's Folk Dance Groups, and a founding member and head of the Choreography Department of the National Academy of Arts of Ukraine .
