NEA! (2018)

NEA! (real name: Sylvia Martens ; born April 9, 1981 in Greiz ) is a German pop singer and songwriter.

Life

NEA became known! at home and abroad with her single Magic Mystery from her album 80 | 14 ( Xenia Records , 2014). She was in the top 100 of the German DJ charts for 35 weeks. The short album was produced by Luis Rodriguez . In September 2015, the internationally acclaimed single Puppy Love (Do You Remember ) was released by ZYX Music as a forerunner to the album Face to Face (May 2016, ZYX Music). In the run-up, the German press agency dpa, Focus , die Welt , Bild-Zeitung , Dresdner Morgenpost and the Austrian music magazine Musikpost reported . The album Face to Face also features the new duet Stronger Together by NEA! with the 80s Eurodisco star Fancy .

NEA received special attention in the German media! in August 2017 by releasing her song Andrea (Your Word Forever) , which she dedicated to a friend of the same name who died of cancer. She donates the royalties from the exploitation rights of her song to the two surviving underage daughters. On their album cassettes child there is a remixed version of the song.

NEA! released their first German pop album Kassettenkind on October 3, 2018 on the Timezone Records Osnabrück label. It marked a musical turning point, after being the first act from Germany to represent the new generation of Euro and Italo disco . The album cassettes child was Sandi Strmljan and Peter Koobs composed in Hamburg, texted and produced. Pe Werner contributed the song You went ahead . The first release from the album was the title Kaleidoskop , on August 10, 2018 . On March 15, 2019, the title Alles Richtig appeared as a second release at the same time as a music video . The album Kassettenkind is characterized by partly personal turnaround and post-turnaround stories from an East German perspective. On August 16, 2019, NEA! a duet with rock singer Petra Zieger . The pop rock song 30 Pearls - I Can Now Lies was created on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall.

On January 31, 2020, NEA! her single and the music video Helles Licht from her album Kassettenkind 2020, due out in the spring . The single also includes a remix by the German DJ project De Lancaster from North Rhine-Westphalia.

NEA! lives with her husband, a journalist and author, in Leipzig.
