The NH Chess Tournament was a chess tournament that was held in Amsterdam every August from 2006 to 2010 . The venue was the Grand Hotel Krasnapolsky , which belongs to the NH Hoteles group of companies. The tournament was financed by the Dutch chess patron Joop van Oosterom .

Two teams, each consisting of five experienced grandmasters and five aspiring talents, played against each other in a double round according to the Scheveningen system . The best player on the youth team received an invitation to the well-endowed Melody Amber tournament the following year.
