Locomotives no. 6 and 7 , later the 99.610 series , are narrow-gauge tank locomotives with a C wheel arrangement from the Nordhausen-Wernigeroder Eisenbahn-Gesellschaft (NWE).

history

The two machines delivered to the Heerestechnische Prüfanstalt came to the Nordhausen-Wernigeroder Railway as No. 6 and 7 in 1917 (superheated steam locomotive) and 1921 (wet steam locomotive). No. 7 was previously used as locomotive 15 on the Nassauische Kleinbahn .

In 1949 they were transferred to the Deutsche Reichsbahn , where they were listed under 99 6101 and 6102.

Up until the 1980s, both machines were used, most recently in roll-stand traffic around Wernigerode.

Despite being shut down, the Harz narrow-gauge railway took over both machines.

  • The locomotive 99 6101, formerly no. 6, was part of the association "Interest group Harzer Schmalspurbahnen e. V. ”for maintenance. It has not been operational since 2015 and is stored in the wagon hall in Wernigerode.
  • The locomotive 99 6102, formerly No. 7, was owned by the “Freundeskreis Selketalbahn e. V. ”for maintenance.

99 6102 should be reworked operationally after the deadline in 2008. At the Meiningen steam locomotive works , it was discovered that the machine needed a new boiler. The cost was estimated at € 350,000. After that, the machine stood for several years. The HSB decided in 2014 to refurbish the machine in the MaLoWa in Benndorf so that the locomotive can be pulled. The return is expected in 2020.
