Nagylak (Romanian Nădlac , German Nadlak , Croatian / Serbian Nadlak / Haдлак ) is a Hungarian municipality in the Makó small area , which is in the Csongrád-Csanád county . The municipality has almost 500 inhabitants and is located on the European route 68 immediately before the Romanian border, where Nădlac is then . The next larger city is Makó (21.5 km). There is a connection to the Romanian A1 via the M43 . The place is located in the southeast of Hungary. The name of the place is deceptive, because this place is nothing more than the outskirts of the historical Nădlac, which was built around a hemp processing company. The old town is now part of Romania, with Hungary only remaining the district that has few art monuments. In 1514 György Dózsa's armies won a great victory over the nobility here. The modern statue of András Lapis commemorates the famous military leader.
