Timothy J. Keller (born September 23, 1950 in Lehigh Valley , Pennsylvania ) is an American Protestant theologian and Presbyterian pastor. He founded the Redeemer Presbyterian Church in Manhattan , New York , which in turn has built 250 parishes in 48 cities. Keller grew up in Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania. He studied at Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania and received his BA in 1972. He continued his studies at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in South Hamilton north of Boston ( Massachusetts ) and received his M.Div. Completed in 1975. From Westminster Theological Seminary in Glenside, Pennsylvania, he received his D.Min. received in theology.

He is an ordained pastor of the Presbyterian Church and pastor of the West Hopewell Presbyterian Church in Virginia for nine years . As an Associate Professor, he teaches practical theology at Westminster Theological Seminary in Glenside. He was also the director of Mercy Ministries of the Presbyterian Church in America.

Act

In 1989 he founded the Redeemer Presbyterian Church in Manhattan, whose services are now regularly attended by over 5,000 people.
