Nahuel Lautaro Bustos (born July 4, 1998 in Córdoba ) is an Argentine football player who is currently under contract with the first division club Atlético Talleres . The striker has been the Argentina U23 international since January 2020 .

Career

At the age of five, Nahuel Bustos began playing football with the amateur club Club Atlético Huracán in his hometown of Córdoba . Nine years later he moved on to Argentino Peñarol. On February 24, 2013, he scored in his debut game for the first team of the fifth division club at the age of 14 years, seven months and 20 days in a 7-0 win against CA Racing de Valle Hermoso and achieved local fame. However, this was his only commitment for Peñarol, because on March 5, 2014 the rights to him were sold to a businessman for 40,000 pesos and he switched to the youth of the professional club Club Atlético Talleres . On June 12, 2015, he signed his first professional contract with La T , but remained on the junior team.

On June 18, 2016, Bustos made his debut for Talleres in the second-rate Primera B Nacional when he came on for Nazareno Solís in the 1-1 draw against the Chacarita Juniors in the second half . In this season 2016 he rose with his club in the top Argentine league . He made his debut in the Superliga on April 24, 2017 (21st matchday) in a 1-0 home win against CD Godoy Cruz . In this 2016/17 season he was used in three other league games. In the next 2017/18 season he did not play a single league game for the first team, but managed to impress in the U-20 team at the Copa Libertadores Sub-20 2018 in Montevideo , Uruguay . In this tournament he scored four goals in the group stage in three games, with a hat trick against the selection of the Venezuelan club Atlético Venezuela .

It was not until the 2018/19 season that he made his breakthrough in the first team under the new coach Juan Pablo Vojvoda . In the 1-1 draw against CA Vélez Sarsfield on September 22, 2018 (6th matchday), he scored his first competitive goal for Talleres in his second season. A week later he scored again in the 1: 2 away defeat against CA Patronato and with a brace in the 3-0 home win against CA Belgrano on matchday 8, his goal yield was already four goals after four appearances.

After he was able to mark another goal by mid-December, he joined the Mexican first division club CF Pachuca on December 28, 2018 in a one-year loan deal . He played his first game on January 9, 2019 in a 2-1 away win in the Copa MX against CF Atlante , in which he scored a goal. As a result, however, he did not manage to conquer a regular place with the Tuzos and returned to Talleres after eight appearances in July 2019.

There he presented himself in strong form in the 2019/20 season. He was an undisputed regular in the storm and scored nine goals in 20 league games and prepared four more goals, making him one of the best scorers in the league.

National team

Nahuel Bustos was in action for the Argentine U23 national team in the qualification for the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo in spring 2020 . He scored a goal in three missions and successfully qualified for the finals with the selection.
