The Namoi River is a river in the northeast of the Australian state of New South Wales .

It rises on the southeast slopes of Bald Rock Mountain ( Liverpool Range ) east of Warrabah National Park . From there it first flows southwest through the small town of Manilla and Lake Keepit . East of Gunnedah it turns to the northwest, flowing through the cities of Boggabri , Narrabri and Wee Waa . There it turns its course to the west and reaches after about 330 kilometers at Walgett the Barwon River , a headwaters of the Darling River .
