The Naryn ( Kazakh Нарын ; Russian Нары́м Narym ) is a right tributary of the Irtysh in eastern Kazakhstan .

The Naryn rises at the interface between the Sarymsaqty Mountains in the east and the Naryn ridge in the west. He leaves the mountains in a northerly direction. It then turns west and flows along the northern flank of the Naryn ridge to the Buchtarma reservoir , into which it finally flows. The Naryn has a length of about 100 km. Its catchment area covers about 2000 km². 9 km above the mouth at Ülken Naryn , the mean discharge is 9 m³ / s. In the months of April and May, the Naryn has the greatest monthly mean drains.
