Legend

Since scientists have no explanation for the phenomenon, the vernacular tries its own way. According to legend, at the time of the Turkish wars, many human souls were lost forever. For each of these lost souls, a daffodil has sprout annually since then. What is astonishing is that the daffodils cannot be cut or transplanted because they wither within 24 hours.

The daffodil meadow of Băteşti attracts many tourists every year.
