The Lausanne Billard Masters 2015 was a pool tournament in the three cushion discipline . It took place for the third time and was held from November 20-22, 2015 in Lausanne , Switzerland.

description

General

It was an invitation tournament, which was approved in 2011 by the world collision association UMB . Eight world-class players were invited, with only one player from one country allowed to play, and two Swiss players. Similar to the AGIPI Billard Masters , there was no fixed prize money, but basic money that could be increased through various bonuses. The game was played at 40  points without a kick . The tournament was broadcast live on Internet TV station Kozoom .

comment

As in the two previous tournaments, the tournament was perfectly organized by Diane Wild this year. No player left a single wish unfulfilled. After a festive opening, the tournament started with the game between Dick Jaspers and Martin Horn . The same game ended the tournament. Jaspers won with 40:23 in 18 shots. In the evening games of the first day there was the first highlight of the tournament through the Turk Tayfun Taşdemir . In the game against the Danish Swiss Torsten Danielsen he managed the tournament high series of 16 points and the tournament record average of 2,500 which was later reached in the tournament by another three players. At the same time, Martin Horn fought defending champion Marco Zanetti with 40:34 in 24 shots. In the last round of the first day there was the first big surprise. The French Jérémy Bury was able to defeat one of the tournament favorites Torbjörn Blomdahl with a class performance with 40:36 in 19 shots.

The first round of the second day buried almost all chances of the defending champion Marco Zanetti . Against Taşdemir, who again showed an outstanding performance, he lost with 32:40 in 17 shots. In the next round, Blomdahl kept his chances of winning with a 40:37 win in 26 shots against world champion Choi Sung-won . In his win against Danielsen with 40:12 in 16 shots, Horn confirmed the terrific form of the last few weeks in various European leagues. For Taşdemir there was a bitter defeat against Jaspers. After two great games with over two averages, he only achieved an average of 0.789 in his defeat against Jaspers. The game ended with a win for Jaspers with 40:15. In the second afternoon round on Saturday, that came out for the Belgian Eddy Merckx . Merckx, who did not find his game in the whole tournament, lost against Choi with 24:14 in 24 shots and was eliminated. In Group A, Zanetti achieved a respectable success and brought Jaspers the only tournament defeat. In the game between Horn and Taşdemir, the decisive game was about making it to the semi-finals. After an exciting game, Horn finally won 40:35 in 16 shots. The series of 10 and 9 points in the decisive phase of the game were decisive. Saturday ended with two finals. Only the winners made it to the semi-finals. Merckx showed his skills again. But despite a good performance against Blomdahl he lost 32:40 in 16 shots. In the second game, World Champion Choi Jérémy Bury was able to defeat relatively safely with 40:26 in 22 shots.

The first semi-final on Sunday started with the game Horn against Blomdahl. After changing tours, Horn was able to assert himself with 40:30 in 20 shots. In the second semifinal, Jaspers had the game against Choi under control. In the end there was a 40:29 victory in 16 shots. The final was controlled by Jaspers in the usual Marnier. Jaspers scored continuously from the start and left Horn with little good entry balls. So Jaspers's victory was well deserved. He was the only player who broke the magic two average limit in the end.

The tournament was again a complete success for Diane Wild's organization team. The Casino de Montbenon was fully occupied on Saturday and Sunday. Since the tournament also has a social aspect, five francs were donated to the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation for every point scored in the tournament. A total of 7,400 francs was raised for a good cause.
