The three- cushion world cup 2015/5 was the fifth UMB / CEB world cup tournament in the 29th year of the three-cushion world cup. It took place from October 12-18, 2015 in Istanbul , Turkey . It was the eighth three-cushion World Cup tournament in Istanbul since 1993.
The world cup tournament in Istanbul ended with a home win for Murat Naci Çoklu . It was his second major international success after winning the three-cushion European championship in 2004. His victory was only in jeopardy in the semi-final match against Dick Jaspers . Jaspers finished the game on the 30th recording. Çoklu made the necessary four points for a draw in the second half. In the extra time (shootout), Jaspers presented four points. Çoklu added five points and was in the final against Roland Forthomme , who surprisingly reached the final. Here the Belgian had no chance and clearly lost with 26:40 in 21 shots. It is exciting in the fight for the overall World Cup, which is about an extra premium. Before the last World Cup of the year in Hurghada, Daniel Sánchez leads with 208 points ahead of Jaspers (202) and Torbjörn Blomdahl (196). All three still have a good chance of winning.
A lot has changed in the tournament mode since 2013. The rate system was abolished because the match time could not be calculated. Matches could last between three and five sets. Good timing was therefore not possible. The game distances were set at 30 points in the pre-qualifying rounds and 40 points in the main qualification and in the knockout games. A tie is possible in the qualifying rounds. In the knockout round, overtime is played in the event of a tie. Each of the two players starts with the initial push. Whoever scores more points wins the match. If there is also a tie in extra time, the kick starts again until a winner is determined. The shot clock was set to 40 seconds wildcards, there are only two for the organizer and one each for the three of the four associations CPB , ACBC , CEB and ACC , in which the World Cup does not take place.
Four qualifying rounds are played. From the last qualifying round, the 12 group winners and the three best runners-up qualify for the final round. The main tournament is played with 32 participants.
In the event of a tie, the following order will be applied:
The first 12 players in the world rankings and the wildcard players automatically took part as players in the tournament in the knockout round. The first four of the world rankings are placed in positions 1, 16, 8 and 9.
Wildcard players:
1 × ACC : Ragay Henry
1 × CPB : Luis Aveiga
1 × ACBC : Ma Xuan Cuong
2 × Organizing host: Semih Saygıner, Adnan Yüksel

Qualifying round
For the sake of clarity, qualification rounds 1, 2 and 3 are not shown. These can be looked up under the links at the UMB . In the last (4th) qualifying round, up to 40 points are played in groups A – L with 3 players each. The top four and the four best runners-up go to the final round of the best 32. In the event of a tie, the better GD applies .
The three-cushion World Cup was organized by the founding association, the " Billiards Worldcup Association " (BWA) until 1998 . Disputes between the BWA and the world association Union Mondiale de Billard (UMB) led to parallel tournaments between 1994 and 1997. The UMB / BWA organized the tournament together until the beginning of 1999. Since the dissolution of the BWA in 1999, the UMB has been the sole organizer. From 1988-1991 the UMB did not host any world championships. During this time, the annual overall winner of the World Cup was crowned world champion.
