The three- cushion world cup 1993/1 was the 1st world cup tournament in the eighth year of the three-cushion world cup. It took place from October 2nd to 4th 1993 in this discipline of carom billiards in Oosterhout . It was the fifth three-cushion World Cup tournament in the Netherlands.

history

The new World Cup season began like the old one ended. Torbjörn Blomdahl won the third World Cup tournament in a row. The first round started with an extraordinary match between the two junior players Dick van Uum and Daniel Sánchez . The Dutchman won with 3-2 sets and an average of 1,774. Sánchez even played 1,839. With Richard Bitalis and Jun'ichi Komori two seeded players have already been eliminated. In the second round, Dick Jaspers and Ludo Dielis met the same fate . In the final, Torbjörn Blomdahl, the dominant player of the last few years, met Raymond Ceulemans, who has won the world championships in the last twenty years . After a quick 2-0 lead by Blomdahl, Ceulemans was able to equalize to 2-2. Blomdahl played the decisive fifth set in a great manner in 2 shots and won with 15: 1. It was already the 16th World Cup victory for Blomdahl in 37 tournaments so far.

The exact price money could not be determined from the documents. However, as in all BWA World Cup tournaments, it was at least 100,000 DM.
