The three- cushion world cup 1989/4 was the 4th world cup tournament in the fourth year of the three- cushion world cup. It took place from December 10th to 11th, 1989 in this discipline of carom billiards in Las Vegas . It was the first three cushion World Cup tournament in the United States.

history

The World Cup tournament started very badly for ex-world champion Nobuaki Kobayashi . Against the unseeded American Michael Hallon there was another first round defeat. This puts his BWA place at risk in the new season, in which only two Japanese are placed. His compatriot Jun'ichi Komori , however, reached the final. Even Ludo Dielis , who has been leading the world championship so far, was eliminated against Marco Zanetti in the round of 16. The reigning world champion Torbjörn Blomdahl was very strong . Only in the semi-final against Raymond Ceulemans was it very close. After a 0-2 set deficit, he managed a 3-2 win. In the final, however, he gave Komori no chance and won with 4-0 sets. Blomdahl also set all tournament records.

The exact price money could not be determined from the documents. However, as in all BWA World Cup tournaments, it was at least 100,000 DM.
