The three- cushion world cup 1993/5 was the 5th world cup tournament in the eighth year of the three-cushion world cup. The tournament took place from 10 to 12 December 1993 in this discipline of carom billiards in Bolzano . It was the first three cushion World Cup tournament in Italy.

history

For the first time a three-cushion World Cup tournament took place in Italy. Bolzano is the hometown of Marco Zanetti . Unfortunately, the tournament hall with 120 seats was a bit too small. Hundreds of spectators crowded at the entrance with no chance of admission. The tournament was of a very high standard, which was also shown on the Italian TV channel RAI. In the first round it caught two seeded players. Raymond Ceulemans and Sang Chun Lee had to admit defeat to Daniel Sánchez and Tonny Carlsen in five sets . The quarter-finals and the semi-finals were also very competitive. Five out of six matches went the full distance. The final was the highlight. In the best World Cup final in history, Blomdahl finally won his 18th World Cup tournament against the strong young Dane Tonny Carlsen after a set deficit of 1: 2.

The exact price money could not be determined from the documents. However, as in all BWA World Cup tournaments, it was at least 100,000 DM.
